Is Trump’s Decision to Move US Embassy to Jerusalem Based on His Hate for Muslims? Can It Make Russia Even More Stronger in Middle East?

By Sikander Hayat

Trump’s decision to move US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem was long overdue. Congress passed the law to move the embassy toJerusalem, but it was being periodically vetoed for last 22 years by every  president of United States. United States was never a trustworthy partner for Palestinians and is the biggest reason that Israel (despite being a small country with a population of 8.5 million people) receives an annual aid of three billion US dollars. This amounts to United States paying roughly 500dollars to every Israeli citizen. How can Palestinians trust United States as a partner in peace process when it pays American tax payer dollars to support occupation of Palestine which has been declared illegal by United Nations.

By moving embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Trump has now come out in open and basically declared his intent to support occupation of East Jerusalem openly rather than just paying for it financially. For all intents and purposes, Palestine has been occupied because United States wantsit to be occupied. US congressmen and senators know fully well that if they even think about stopping regime in Israel, full might of political campaign donations will be unleashed against them. Their opponents in House and Senate races will get huge financial boost and essentially it will be a political suicide to say anything against Israeli regime.

To give you an example, when Iraq invaded Kuwait and occupation was declared illegal by United Nations, it took United States only few days to mobilize its army and liberate Kuwait. The difference between occupation of Kuwait and occupation of Palestine is that in one of them Israelis the occupier. United States has never been an honest broker for peace in theMiddle East and the only difference this time is that the veil is completely off.

Donald Trump made some promises when he was running for the presidency. These promises included the following (and I am paraphrasing here):

1.       Making America white again by curtailing immigration and deporting Mexicans
2.       Building the wall (physical and metaphorical)
3.       Opening coal mines and curtailing the powers ofEPA (Environmental Protection Agency)
7.       Cutting taxes for rich (apparently any gains trickle down to lower and middle classes)
8.       Bringing back Christmas (apparently it was lost before Trump)
11.   Stopping the rape of America by China (he really said those words!)

To be honest, Trump is in the process of meeting most of these promises. He has already totally banned immigration from six mostly Muslim countries (he calls them terrorist countries). Case went to US Supreme Court and after few months, Trump’ executive order has been fully implemented. Increasingly large number of Mexicans/Central American immigrants are being deported back to their home countries. Throughout the campaign, he openly professed his understanding that White Americans were being left behind by the system and Obama’s tenure in White House has the situations of White Americans. This struck a chord with the Americans in blue collar occupations as they are the first victims of globalisation. His promises of making America which will cut a good deal and throw out anything which favours other countries have resonance with average Americans.

Most Americans are not racist, and they tolerate Trump’s racism because they believe that Trump is the only one with answer to the problems. All other candidates were in favour of globalisation, free trade, outsourcing and other perceived evils. These so-called establishment politicians believed in open borders, outsourcing, globalization and voters believed that among the available choices, Trump was the only one who was willing to put a halt to these developments.
So, my point is that in Trump’s mind, recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel is part of the same “make America great again” package. He clearly professes his hatred of Muslims by retweeting fascists and clearly thinks that Israel and United States are fighting the same enemy. His son inlaw is has been funding Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank and his daughter has converted to Judaism. His love for Israel is just another manifestation for his hate for Islam and Muslims.

India: The Terrorists Within

A day after major Indian cities were placed on high alert following blasts in the IT city of Bangalore, as many as 17 blasts ripped through Ahmedabad, capital of the affluent western Indian state of Gujarat . Some 30 people were killed, some at hospitals where bombs were timed to go off when the injured from other blasts were being brought in. (Later, in Surat, a center for the world's diamond industry, a bomb was defused near a hospital and two cars packed with explosives were found in in the city's outskirts.) Investigators pointed fingers at the usual Islamist suspects: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Bangladesh- based Harkat-ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and the indigenous Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). But even as the police searched for clues, the Ahmedabad attacks were owned up by a group calling itself the " Indian Mujahideen. " Several TV news stations received an email five minutes before the first blasts in Ahmedabad. The message repo
